Holing Putts, what it takes
What the night will entail:
A presentation on the four fundamentals of good putting
1. The putter face angle and how it determines the starting direction
2. Putter face angle and stroke path relationship
3. The angle on which the putter strikes the ball
4. Speed determines line
Following the presentation we will have a question and answer session. You will also have the opportunity to get some 1 to 1 advice on your current technique.
PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN PUTTER ALONG!
Along with the above there will be some discussions on the benefits of a correctly fitted putter.
Putting competition to win a prize!

Greens update
Poor Weather - Greens Update 10th December
Following even more very heavy rainfall last night and with more rain expected this evening, it should be of no surprise to members that the course is extremely wet at present. That said the course remains open as always unlike some in the area which have had to close.
This has impacted the greens staff and hampered them in being able to get the greens equipment onto the course this week. As a result, unless in the unlikely event that we have fine weather tomorrow (Friday), the greens will not be cut at the end of the week as is our normal practice. Therefore members need to be aware that the greens over the weekend will be slightly longer than normal and therefore may run a little slower.
Overall, the fairways and greens have stood up well to the deluge, however areas of the rough are extremely wet. Whilst all should stick to the paths wherever possible, where there are no paths it is often better for buggies, trolleys and golfers to remain on the fairways.
Additionally, because of the extremely wet conditions we have taken the following decisions until further notice
* Preferred lies through the green
* Flags should be removed or left whilst putting i.e. Do not tend the flag.
* The Yellow and Red tee blocks on the 15th and 17th and the Red Tee block on the 10th and 12th will remain in the forward positions.
* We will be moving the 13th Yellow and Red Tee blocks up to the side of the Oak Tree to make the 13th a short par three, as we did a couple of years ago.
* The Clubs large four wheel buggies will not be available for use on the course, apart from by the Professional.
* All ropes and stakes should not be removed and should be treated as an immovable obstruction (rule 24.1). When the stake or rope interferes with the player's stance or the area of their intended swing, a player may take the nearest point of relief not nearer the hole without penalty.
Finally, we now have rescheduled to complete the Annual Verti Draining exercise next week on Wednesday 16th December to Friday 18th December. All Fairways and Aprons will be Verti Drained and this will cause some disruption with the contractor and machinery being on the course during these days. However, we will schedule the work so as not to impact the Senior's and Wednesday section competitions. If playing at other times will all members please respect the contractors and miss out the hole(s) being treated at a particular time.
I apologise for any inconvenience caused however am sure members understand these measures are necessary whilst this awful wet weather continues.
