As we all know the course has been closed for just over a week now due to the heavy rainfall and the group being too wet. 

Despite that I organised a FREE golf clinic on Sunday Morning to try and inspire some interest despite the gloomy conditions. 

I gave myself 90 minutes to deliver some swing and putting coaching expecting around half a dozen golfers to show up. 

We had nearly 30 show up for the session! I didn't make the putting green! 

I was so pleased to see everyone and well done for making the effort to come up and take part. I hope you took something away from it and I apologise if I didn't get chance to speak to you!

Night Golf

The Night golf event that was scheduled in for Next Friday has been postponed due to the poor weather and low numbers. I don't think anyone is inspired to play golf at night if its raining! 

I will re arrange it for sometime in March.

Unfortunately there were no competition results due to the course closure!

The competition for this Saturday is a team event with best two scores to count. 

Due to the very wet condition of the course it was agreed in council tonight that there will be a complete trolley ban this weekend. 

With this in mind we have decided to keep the competition with the same format, but as an additional attempt to protect our course, players will be restricted to 3 clubs and a putter. 

In the event of a player finding difficulty in carrying, I am sure that with the restriction on the number of clubs that the player should be able to share the carrying of their clubs with other members of their team. 

I am not sure how many holes will be available at this time I will update you ASAP.


 

We had a brilliant turnout for the juniors again on Sunday afternoon, where our organiser Kathie Glazier organised some pitching games, a putting competition and quiz to get them all together!

Well done Kathie and of course our fantastic Juniors.
