Captain's Weekend Course Update - Friday, 24 June
The Captain has asked for a challenging but fair course to be set up, and the Greens team have been hard at work this week preparing the course for Captain's weekend. A big thanks goes to Mike and the team for all the effort put in this week to get the course ready after the extreme rainfall of last week and Monday this week.
Firstly, a reminder to all players that the course will be shut from 12 noon on Friday, 24 June to enable the Greens team to complete final preparations for the weekend. All golfers must leave the course at 12 noon irrespective of whether they have finished their round or not.
All bunkers are in play as per the rules of golf and should remain so unless we get any very heavy rainfall, in which case we may have to review conditions.
Various largish areas have been marked as Ground Under Repair (GUR) where ground conditions are still recovering from the impact of the recent extremely wet weather.
* The area to the left of the third green alongside the path. Note the drop zone has been removed
* The drainage work between the 8th and 10th fairways
* In the hollow to the left of the 11th green
* The area to the left of the 12th green where the bunker has been removed.
* Other areas of GUR are marked around the course as appropriate and as always the definition of Abnormal Ground Conditions applies.
Note: These areas are not compulsory GUR. Players may play the ball as it lies or may take relief without penalty as per rule 25-1. Looking forward to a great weekend's golf.

Charity golf day
This event will be held in support of the Cooper Street Kids here at Hazel Grove Golf Club on Thursday, 7 July
Would anyone be interested in entering a team into our Charity Golf Day which will be held at Hazel Grove Golf Club on Thursday, 7 July. This will be in support of The Cooper Street Kids, Swellendam, South Africa (these are 35 children which Bill & Jackie Dootson have been supporting over the last 6 years).
The price to enter is £180 per team of 4, and will include golf and a 3 course meal (you can enter as many teams as you like). The team can be any combination ie. 4 ladies, 4 men, 3 ladies + 1 man, 3 men + 1 lady and so on, and is a shotgun start at 1.00pm, followed by the meal, prize presentation and a raffle/auction.
