Fantastic Tiners at the Grove
Many, many thanks to the 26 or so volunteers who turned up this week to help with removing the micro hollow tines from the greens. A great turnout and all worked their socks off for a good 3-4 hours. Brilliant effort.
The weather was very kind and because we had such a good turnout we were able to deploy three teams, two on collecting the tines and one on the task of distributing the tines to pack and build up the sides of the new paths. A huge boost to the Working Parties schedule.
As a result together with the Greens team we were able to complete micro tining and clearing all 18 greens and the putting greens before 1pm. A record!
Mike and his team were extremely grateful for the efforts and contribution of all. Mike describing the day as "the best ever autumn hollow tining exercise in his 25 years at the Grove"
Mike and the Greens team have also spent time this week top dressing and over seeding the greens. We are well ahead of schedule we set.
The greens will benefit even further from this maintenance exercise and should be back in excellent condition pretty rapidly.
Well done and thanks again to all who helped from Mike & me.
