Course Update
Following the fairly persistent rain fall over the past week the course is extremely wet at the moment. Therefore on the day please check the Notice Boards and/or with the Professional to determine current playing conditions e.g. preferred lies and in particular the rules regarding bunkers etc.
Also at this time of year it is normal that we DO NOT TEND FLAGS in order to protect the area around the holes from excessive wear and tear. With immediate effect will all golfers please either leave the flag in place or remove the flag when putting.
Unfortunately a small number of members still seem to be pushing/pulling trolleys in areas that are G.U.R, please keep to the paths at all times where present on holes.
Finally we have put some ropes out this week to protect certain wet areas. Will all golfers please not duck under ropes in order to take a shortcut, they are there for a purpose.

Professionals Christmas Draw
The Professionals Christmas draw is now up and running! As normal its £1 per square or 6 squares for £5!
First prize is a £300 custom fit driver of your choice.
The course is playing longer It doesn't need us to tell you that the ball isn't travelling as far as it was a couple of months ago; the combination of cooler air and less roll on the softer fairways makes the course a lot different to how it was in the summer.
So, if you're trying to find some extra yards off the tee, to save yourself going in with long irons and hybrids, these tips may help you:
1. Tee your ball a little higher and move it forward in your stance to encourage an upward angle of attack, therefore adding loft
2. Grip the club a little lighter than usual, which will help your wrists hinge more easily for a steeper angle of attack to promote a higher flight
3. Load more weight onto your right side than usual, which also creates a steeper swing for longer carries
