The past couple of dry days have given us welcome relief and allowed our greens team to top off the fairways, aprons, tees and greens!

The course is taking shape and looking in good condition.

Nice to be featured in this week’s Stockport Express with the work we have being doing at local schools on our Grass Roots Tri-Golf programme. We will be working with another two schools in the near future.

Ideal for Cubs

Tri-Golf is a FUN, 'mini' version of golf for use by children in primary and junior schools. Builds the skill needed for learning golf, allows pupils to learn on their own and as part of a team. Activities can be delivered indoors and outdoors. Up to 30 children can take part in one 60 minute session.

Ideal for the Scouts

Street Golf uses specially designed, lighter, beginner-friendly clubs and reduced flight balls for use by secondary school aged pupils. Activities are best delivered outdoors as more space is needed but in some cases indoors sessions can be organised. Up to 20 children can take part in one 60 minute session.

Both Tri-Golf and Street Golf offer 'Skills for Life' learning and Curriculum learning.

Hazel Grove golf club are offering 15 months membership for the price of 12 in January 2017!

The offer is simple. Join in January and you pay three months which is £276.50 for a full gold seven-day membership. That takes you through to our renewal date of 1st April 2018. At renewal you will be invited to renew for 12 months LESS the £276.50 you have paid. That means that you can play at HGGC for 15 months but only pay for 12!

HGGC PGA Charity Pro-Am - Friday, 13 July 2018

Hazel Grove Golf Club will be hosting their annual Charity PGA Pro-Am next year on Friday, 13 July 2018 (so plenty of time to save the date). The cost of entering a team of 3 is just £299 and your fourth team member will be a PGA Professional. Your PGA Professional will be with you for the best part of the day, sharing their golfing knowledge and experiences which will definitely benefit your team.

HOW IT WORKS
On arrival you will allocated a PGA Pro to your team (of 3 amateurs), you’ll spend some time getting to know your Pro, then off you go – just treat the game like a casual round of golf. There will be 2 competitions running at the same time. One for the team as a whole and one for the Pros who will be entering their own competition alongside the team comp, the Pro will be focussed on his/her own game as there is a substantial Pro’s Prize Fund at the end but it really is a remarkable experience.

If you’ve ever thought of playing in a Pro-Am and haven’t got round to it yet, then you should strongly consider playing in this one.

It’s a great day all round and also a good way for businesses to entertain customers/reward staff for just £100 per person (think of the cost of playing 9 or 18 holes with a Pro!). For £100 you will be playing in a fantastic comp, with 18 holes of golf, bacon sandwich/coffee, good camaraderie and a meal after the game – this is excellent value and one not to be missed, plus you’ll have the opportunity to meet lots of other people/professionals and win prizes. This is open to any golfer of a reasonable standard (Ladies and Gents).

If you are not able to enter but know someone else who may be interested, please pass on the flyer/entry form. It’s not restricted to members and most companies will appreciate the opportunity. If you can’t get a team together but would like to play yourself, just give James your name and he will try and put a team together for you.
