Winter Guidelines We have seen quite a lot of rainfall over the past few weeks, which has started to make it more difficult to travel and has resulted in the course starting to see some impact in areas of heavy footfall. It is, therefore, an appropriate time to introduce our Winter Guidelines to help minimise damage and prolong the use of electric trolleys on the course over the wet winter months. The use of Winter Wheels was very successful last year and reduced damage to the course. So, from Friday, 1 November, through to the end of the winter conditions we are MANDATING that all members wanting to continue using their electric trolleys fit winter wheels. I’m sure members appreciate the need to protect the course as much as possible through the winter months, so as in previous years it would be really appreciated if all can adhere to the following guidelines to help minimise wear and tear on the course. - Please carry your golf bags if at all possible.
- Use push/pull trolleys rather than electric trolleys if possible.
- Lighten the loads in your golf bags if using trolleys.
- White lines will be introduced in front of greens to direct ALL buggy/trolley traffic, rather than using ropes. Buggies and trolleys of any sort MUST NOT go beyond the white lines close to the greens and green fringes. The exception being the third where ropes have been installed to direct ALL traffic to the right hand side to use the road.
- Electric trolley users MUST use winter wheels from Friday, 1 November. Note if you don’t have any, the pro shop can order specific manufacturer’s winter wheels or the gliders that were purchased by many members last year, these are far more cost effective.
- Members using their own “ride on” buggies MUST keep to paths and MUST NOT take their buggies onto the green’s fringes or near to the greens.
- Even though bunkers are “Rake and Place” please fully rake bunkers to help maintain their overall appearance and condition.
- Please repair those pitchmarks!
Members wishing to fit their winter wheels earlier please feel free to do so. As always, ring the Pro Shop on 01614 837272 for more information.
