Im Alex, Im 24 years young and I am a Personal Trainer and Coach in Stockport.
I teach and mentor clients on how to improve their lives through their diet, exercise and lifestyle choices.
After years of competing as an elite athlete around the world (and still do), I understand the importance of great health and fitness, and the impact it can have on a person's life. Over the next few weeks, James has been kind enough to let me have a section in this newsletter where I will be writing each week on how you can improve your golf game. I don't think I have to go into too much detail on how golf is a dynamic sport. The body is constantly working as a complex unit whether you're driving down the green or focussing on that all important putt.
Everything comes into play
Today I want to introduce you to a basic stabilisation movement you can perform at home. Stability is a massive component when it comes to golf. All your muscles are moving around the core of your body. The core consists of everything minus your arms and legs. So around the abdominal area and chest. Like they say "you can't fire a cannon from a canoe". So it is vital you are able to stabilise at the core to produce power and coordination in your golf swing.
T Stabilisation Exercise:
1 - Firstly, Get into a standard Push Up position- palms on the floor under the shoulders and body out stretched with feet on the floor
2 - Shift your weight on to your left hand and rotate your chest to the right as you raise your right arm towards the ceiling. Keep your feet stacked.
3 - Hold for a few seconds, return to the start, repeat on the other side. Thats One Rep.
4 - Repeat for a number of 10/20 reps. Progress into to and go at your own pace.

If you see any strange putting Pre shot routines over the weekend its will most probably be the HGGC members who took part in the AimPoint putting class with Jamie Donaldson last week! Jamie spends lots of his time out on the tour coaching the likes of Adam Scott and Ian Poulter.
He has helped them with their putting by delivering the AimPoint green reading method. Aimpoint teaches golfers to read greens with their feet rather than their eyes. He is hoping to host another session in the summer months.
I will keep you posted.
