A big thanks to the 24 ladies who braved the wet conditions for my chip and sip event last Monday! Despite the poor conditions they all seemed to have fun! I set the course out for 9 holes, no hole longer than 50 yards.
I will be organising a Mixed Chip and Sip next month to include the men!
The greens have started to recover, but 3, 6, 8, 9 and 13 will be given our upmost attention during the next few weeks. We are all extremely disappointed with the slow recovery of our greens this year. We even had the sprinkler water system checked for algae and sent soil samples from the bad greens to The Turf Disease Centre. These results show the main reason for the poor growth as compaction due to water retention around the edges. This will be addressed every month, and weekly in Winter, weather permitting.

Mike Davie is putting together a Summer Works program and a longer term Winter Program, which will include some necessary measures to protect the greens.
Thank you all for your patience and understanding -
GREENS REMAIN OUR TOP PRIORITY We are also preparing two or three temporary greens ready for the harsh winter months. Having them prepared will give us some flexibility during harsh weather conditions. They will not be in play continuously.
