Last Friday I hosted the 10 yard challenge. This is where golfers try out the latest equipment and some coaching advice to see if they could gain 10 yards off the tee! Unfortunately the rain stopped us after a few hours but I do have some very good results from you!
Top 3 Places:
John Mclellan went from a 189yard carry to a 199yard carry using the new Taylormade jetspeed (total gain 10yards)
Pete Clayton went from a 216yard carry to a 250yard carry again using the Taylormade Jetspeed (total gain 34yards)
Pam Mcghan went from a 118 yard carry to a huge 162yard carry using again the Jetspeed but in a ladies shaft (Total gain 44yards)
Well done Pam! she won the challenge and receives £50 to spend in the pro shop! I will be hosing another very very soon. HOW MANY YARDS CAN YOU GAIN?

Greens Update:
Thank you to everyone who carried their golf bags during this awful wet winter. The course will recover quickly as the weather improves. The Greens are our top priority, and all efforts will be made to get them back to the condition and speed we have all come to expect at HGGC.
Fairways have been swept, cleared of loose divots, and we have reintroduced the divot bags. Please take a bag of divot mix on your round of golf, and help with the Divoting Party on Monday 14th April at 0830. Bring your favorite bucket and wear flat soled shoes--light refreshments will be provided at lunchtime. Don't forget to leave the empty divot bags in our new wooden collection bins. Many thanks to Nick Taylor for constructing the containers.
We would also be very grateful, if all golfers could repair as many pitch marks on greens, as time allows-- LET'S MAKE OUR COURSE ONE OF THE BEST IN THE AREA.
Thank you so much for all your help and support, the Greens-staff really appreciate all your kindness.
As the Masters edges closer, we can't wait to see if Adam Scott can hang on to his Green Jacket. Scott is an interesting case. His swing has always looked majestic; yet five years ago, he'd dropped out of the world's top 50 and his career was stalling. It prompted Scott to switch long-term coach, Butch Harmon, for unknown Aussie Brad Malone. Malone quickly spotted a postural kink that caused Scott to separate his arms from his body, costing his action connection and coordination. A simple set-up change turned Scott's career around.
The episode shows two things: first, that a successful action is built on solid basics, whether it's yours or mine or Adam Scott's; and second, that a fresh pair of eyes can make a real difference to a player's form.
As the season starts, I urge anyone who has not had a lesson for a while to drop into the shop and talk to us. We can't promise you a Masters triumph… but we will improve your game. Click here to review our instruction pages and maybe book a lesson too.
