Duncan Cocker, who finished 2nd in the Final Winter medal with a nett 65, took advantage of the PING Demo day that took place last Friday 4th April. Duncan came up to try out some new drivers to see if there was something out there that could improve his distance and accuracy! He found the perfect club, a PING G25 driver but fitted with the i25 shaft, which is slightly heavier and firmer than the standard shaft. This club combined with an understanding of the correct set-up and upward swing needed to hit a driver, gave him extra yards and more consistent hits. The club went straight in his bag the day after for the competition, and I'm very pleased to say it seems to have worked! Well done Duncan.
Want to get fitted and experience more yards? Click here to get in touch and book your fitting session.
Also well done to Simon Ashton who finished with a Nett 67 on Saturday. Simon recently got fitted for a TaylorMade JetSpeed Driver, fairway wood and some hybrids! Working well!
Midweek Handicap Qualifying Medal
From May to September I will be organising a midweek competition on a Wednesday afternoon from 3pm onwards, 18 holes, white tees, handicap qualifying medal. The BRS will not be reserved as a competition, all you need to do is book online as a casual booking, then sign into the competition when you come in the shop. This allows golfers who don't wish to play in the competition to still play as normal. Groups can be played in 2, 3 or 4 balls to allow flexibility. The last tee off will be 4 hours before sunset or 6pm, whichever is earliest.
The cost will be the same as a Saturday competition, £2.50 plus £1 if you want to enter the two's and all monies will be split between the top 3 players. Please be aware that to make each competition a handicap qualifier, we will need a minimum of 20 players so please show your support.
The first one is Wednesday 7th May so click here to get in touch for more info.
Thursday Evening Roll Up
Also from May to September I will be organising a Thursday evening 9 hole roll up between 4.30pm and 6.30pm. Not reserved on the BRS, but book your times as a casual booking, then sign in the book when you arrive. This is open to everyone, and costs just £2pp. We will play different formats each week, and are a great way for new golfers to start playing some competitive golf! Andy will have some food on in the clubhouse after for golfers who wish to stay on after their game! I will do the results the day after, and host a monthly presentation for the prize winners.
The first one is Thursday 1st May, so click here to get in touch for more info.
For those of you who attended the Golf Fitness evening a few weeks ago with Gaz and Ben from Precision Performance, they are now offering some group follow up sessions here at HGGC over a six week period.
The Cost for the course is £60, and that includes the foam roller and lacrosse ball which was demonstrated on the night. If you just wish to attend one or two sessions they are priced at £10 per week, but don't include the roller or ball.
The sessions will take place on a Monday during the day, or a Thursday evening to allow flexibility. For more information or to reserve your place please click here to get in touch. Groups are limited to a maximum of 20 people.
We will soon be hosting another fitness night FREE presentation for those of you who missed the first one.
